THE SHOOTAROUND
  • The Raiders have a 14-3 record in season-openers the past 17 seasons (2005-06 season).
  • A single win will give second-year head coach Kristin Rotert her 25th career win as a head coach.
  • Northwestern returns three starters to the roster this season in Molly Schany, Maddie Jones, and Taylor VanderVelde who combined for 47% of NWC's scoring a season ago.
  • Schany needs just a single rebound (399) to join the Red Raider 400 rebound club.
  • NWC has been dominant against the KCAC historically – holding a 14-3 all-time mark against the league.
  • The Raiders have won four of the last five meetings against KCAC foes and all three loses have come to Sterling College.
SERIES HISTORY – BETHEL
  • Wednesday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
SERIES HISTORY – TABOR
  • Friday's clash will be the third-ever meeting; Northwestern has won the first two.
  • The Raiders opened the 2021-22 – and the Rotert era – with a 77-44 win inside the Bultman Center.
SCOUTING THE THRESHERS
  • Bethel also opens their season in this game, coming off a 10-21 (8-16 KCAC) 2021-22 season.
  • Both KCAC Honorable Mention performers from last season are no longer on the roster.
  • The Threshers were picked to finish 10th (of 13 teams) in the KCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • They fell in the Quarterfinals of the KCAC tournament last season.
SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS
  • Tabor opened the season on Oct. 27, falling 70-66 to the College of the Ozarks (Mo.).
  • They opened the season receiving votes (10) in the NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
  • The Bluejays were predicted to finish second in the KCAC Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Up Next: Northwestern will open the home slate next weekend, playing host to their annual Pizza Ranch Classic on November 11-12. The Red Raiders will open the classic with a clash against Dickinson State (N.D.) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11 inside the Bultman Center.
