Raider Wrestlers Among Top Finishers at York Invite

Lind leads the way with a second-place finish in 197

YORK, Neb.  – Northwestern took the mat for the first time this season, sending a group of freshmen and sophomores to the York Invite on Saturday. The Raiders saw eight of their 12 wrestlers place in the top-8 in their respective weight classes, including a second-place finish from Kaleb Lind (So., Lindenhurst, Ill.).

Donovan Johnston (Fr., Holtville, Calif.) took a fourth-place finish after winning his first two matches by way of decision, making his way to the third-place match and a 2-2 overall finish. Also finishing fourth in his first career collegiate matches, Noah Parmelee (Fr., Sioux City, Iowa) won his first two matches before falling in the third-place match.

Eli Leonhardt (So., Sioux Falls, S.D.) captured third place in 141 after winning by fall in the third-place match, going 2-1 on the day.
Additionally, Devin Padilla (Fr., Camas, Wash.) and Lincoln Siebert (So., Burns, Wyo.) finished seventh in their brackets, with Ky Bandy (Fr., Limon, Colo.) taking an eighth-place finish.

"I am very proud of the way our guys battled, and they are exciting to watch," said head coach Rik Dahl. "We will spend the next week healing up and cleaning up a few things before heading to Friends University next Saturday."

Up Next: Northwestern will travel to Wichita, Kansas for the Friends University Invite next Saturday, November 5, beginning at 9:00 AM.
