ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern College Cheer and Dance teams hosted the Northwestern College Invite, taking two second-place finishes in their second competition of the season.
The Cheer team cracked 70+ points for the first time since the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Championship a season ago, notching a team score of 71.70 points. The Pioneers of MidAmerica Nazarene University took home first-place with a team score of 79.1 points, followed by the Dordt Defenders in third with 51.45 points. In action in back-to-back days, the NWC Cheer team improved their score by 7.30 points over their initial competition yesterday at the Midland Invite.
In a field of three teams this morning, the Northwestern Dance team took home second-place with a team score of 56.9. The Saint Ambrose University Bees won the event with a stellar score of 70.9 points, and the Defenders of Dordt University came in third with a score of 56.2, just 0.7 points behind the Raiders.
