Raiders Drop Match to No. 3 Spring Arbor

SPRING ARBOR, Mich. – The Northwestern College women's soccer team fell to No. 3-ranked Spring Arbor (Mich.) 5-0 tonight in the first of two matches in the state of Michigan this weekend.

The Raiders faced a quality top-5 foe in Spring Arbor tonight but couldn't put anything together against the Cougars. The Cougars controlled the match from the kickoff to the final whistle, out shooting Northwestern 25-2.

Northwestern Goalkeeper Kaelin Alons (Jr., Orange City, Iowa/Unity Christian) put up a valiant effort at goal tallying six saves on the 25 Spring Arbor shots. Julie Dunlap (Jr., Des Moines, Iowa/Dowling Catholic) recorded the lone shot on goal for the Raiders in the contest.

Up Next: The Raiders drop to 0-2-0 on the season but look to bounce back tomorrow afternoon, as they will stay in Spring Arbor, Mich. overnight and face St. Francis (Ind.) tomorrow. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. (CT) on the campus of Spring Arbor University.
