Northwestern To Host Track and Field Camp

Northwestern College will host a track and field camp this summer, available for all incoming high school athletes (grades 9-12), on Monday, July 19. The camp will be held on the newly resurfaced DeValois Stadium track; time for the camp is 9am - Noon.

Scott Bahrke, the head track and field coach at NWC, will serve as the camp director, and will be assisted by Tim Vander Ploeg (Assistant Track and Field Coach).

The primary purpose of this camp is to provide high school track & field athletes with event-specific instruction in the sprints, hurdles, throws and 800m runs. We will cover the basic principles of training in each event as well as proper technique and form drills. Our desire is to help athletes build a solid foundation in the technical aspects of their events for the upcoming track season.

Cost: $45 / session; includes camp T-Shirt

*Each athlete can register for up to ONE event. Spots for each event offered will be guaranteed to the first 10 athletes who register. Deadline to register is Friday, July 9, 2021.
