Veenstra To Play Basketball at Northwestern

| By:
Grant Veenstra (Urbandale, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College.

Veenstra is a 6'3" guard who had a standout, three-year career playing for Des Moines Christian. Veenstra averaged 12 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and nearly two steals per game in leading his team to the class 2A state semifinals and a 22-3 final record. He earned second team all-state and first team all-conference honors while also being named an IBCA All-Star.

"We are very excited to have Grant join our men's basketball program in the fall," commented Northwestern Head Coach Kris Korver. "Grant is a competitive, tough guard who has been coached well and played for an outstanding high school program at Des Moines Christian. Grant helped lead his team to the state semifinals as a senior and we look forward to his time as a Red Raider."

Veenstra is a member of both the high honor roll and National Honor Society; he plans to study Finance and Economics at Northwestern. He is the son of Joel and Julie.

"I chose to attend Northwestern because of its great basketball and business programs," stated Veenstra.
