Northwestern College Head Softball Coach
Shane Bouman announced the commitments of 13 recruits who will join the Raiders next fall.
Kate Kralik – Indianola High School / Iowa Blitz
     Kralik earned second team all-state and first team all-conference honors in leading Indianola to the class 5A Regional finals and 14-6 record. She posted a 9-5 record with a 1.34 ERA and 132 strikeouts in 94 innings pitched. Kralik pitched a no-hitter against Norwalk last summer and went an impressive 31-3 and led her team to a third place finish at the 5A state tournament as a sophomore. She is the daughter of Cory and Jodi.
"I chose Northwestern because it was college that felt like home," said Kralik. "Coach Bouman was amazing and the facilities are very impressive…Northwestern definitely is the place for me."

Maggie McGuire – Sioux Central High School / Karl Larsen Travel Ball
     McGuire was named to the all-area team after hitting .339 with a team-high six doubles and 15 RBI. She is a three-year starter heading into her final season this summer. McGuire plans to study political science at Northwestern and is the daughter of Wes McGuire and Heidi Vasher.
"I really appreciated the coaching staff and admire the team-first mentality I witnessed when I came for my visit," stated McGuire. "Northwestern is a place of community and I felt welcome there."

Kate Kriegel – Grinnell High School / Iowa Blitz
     Kriegel is a three-year team captain and second team all-state selection. She hit a team-best .393 with 19 runs scored and 15 RBIs last summer, earning all-conference honors for the second time. A member of the National Honor Society, Kriegel plans to study Nursing at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Justin and Jennifer.
"Northwestern felt like home right away and the professors, coaching staff and students are the kind of people that I want to surround myself with for the next four years," stated Kriegel. "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to compete at a high level in a sport I love and Northwestern is a place that will challenge me as a student, softball player and in my faith."

Kyra Wajer – Dell Rapids High School / South Dakota Renegades 18u National
     Wajer was named to the varsity all-state team and received athlete of the week multiple times. She is a member of the Gold Honor Roll and plans to study Biology / Health Professions with a minor in Spanish at Northwestern. Wajer is the daughter of Jeremy and Nikki.
"I chose to continue my softball career at Northwestern because of the sense of community I felt and the great people that I met when I visited," stated Wajer.

Hannah Anderson – Homeschool –played for Forest City High School
     Anderson earned second team all-conference honors after hitting .415 with a team-best 20 RBI and seven doubles. Anderson will study Criminal Justice at Northwestern and is the daughter of Andy and Rebecca.
"I chose to continue my education and softball career at Northwestern because of the team-first mentality and atmosphere I felt when I visited," stated Anderson. "When I attended camp, Northwestern seemed like the place for me."

Madison Probst – MOC-Floyd Valley High School
     Probst has played three seasons for the Dutch heading into her final season this summer. She will major in Elementary Education at Northwestern and is the daughter of Keith and Jennifer.
"I chose Northwestern because I will be challenge in my faith, my academics and in a sport I love," stated Probst. "I have attended multiple Northwestern softball camps over the years and was impressed with the players and coaching staff."

Stella Umphreys – Treynor High School and Iowa Blitz
     Umphreys is a four-year letter winner for the Cardinals heading into her final season this summer. Umphreys earned all-conference accolades after hitting .353 with a .618 slugging percentage. She hit over .400 as a sophomore and belted five home runs during her last fall club season. Also a member of the Treynor Volleyball team, Umphreys was named the KMA Defensive Player of the Year in 2020. A member of both the honor roll and National Honor Society, Umphreys plans to study Nursing at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Carolyn and John.
     "I love the Christian community," said Umphreys on why she chose Northwestern. "The coaches and players were very welcoming and Northwestern just felt like home."

Abby Koslowski – MFL MarMac High School and Synergy Softball
     Koslowski is a three-sports standout (softball, volleyball and golf) who has played three years for the Bulldogs softball team heading into this summer. She hit .240 and totaled 12 RBI in a shortened 2020 season. Koslowski earned all-conference honors in volleyball and plans to study Sports Management at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Crystal Moreland and Tim and Anna Koslowski.
"After my first visit to Northwestern, I was 99% certain that it was the place God wanted me to attend," said Koslowski. "I revisited for a softball camp and the Red 101 Days where I was able to really get to know Coach Bouman…and that it was finalized it for me."

Elise Osman – Iowa Falls – Alden
     Osman competed multiple seasons in both softball and volleyball for Iowa Falls – Alden. She has played in 72 career games with 66 starts while compiling 297 strikeouts for the Cadets in the circle. Osman hit .326 with a team-high seven doubles and 14 RBI and posted 70 strikeouts in 83 innings pitched. She earned North-Central all-conference honors for the third time last summer. An honor roll student, Osman plans to study Business at Northwestern. She is the daughter of David and Anita.
"Northwestern is the right place for me because I am able to continue to play the sport I love for a quality program with great coaches and also receive a faith-based education," stated Osman.

Chloe Gallegos – Carroll High School and Iowa Blitz
     Gallegos has enjoyed an outstanding four-year career playing for Carroll High School heading into her final season this summer. Gallegos ranked sixth in the state of Iowa with a .611 batting average last summer and earned all-state honors for the second time. She has been named all-conference three consecutive seasons and plans to major in Exercise Science at Northwestern. Gallegos is the daughter of Ryan and Mary.
"I love the competitiveness of the softball program," answered Gallegos when asked on why she chose to attend Northwestern. "The coaches and players I met made me feel welcome."

Delaney Iseminger – Kingsley-Pierson High School and Tri-State Titans
     Iseminger hit .295 with 10 RBI in leading her team to an 11-7 record last summer. She received all-conference recognition for the second time and has been named to the academic all-conference team all three years. A member of the National Honor Society, Iseminger plans to study Accounting at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Chad and Marci.
"I chose Northwestern because of the atmosphere and the people who I will be surrounded by," commented Iseminger. "I will get to continue to play a sport I love while also getting an outstanding education at a place where my faith will grow."

Kaleigh Metzger – Aurora High School and Nebraska Swingers Travel Ball
     Metzger is a four-year starter who holds the career doubles and RBI records. Metzger is four-time all-state and all-conference selection who is a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to study Biology / Health Professions at Northwestern and is the daughter of Steve and Kate.
"Northwestern has great facilities and Coach Bouman has a knowledge and passion for the game of softball that I appreciate," stated Metzger.

Kylie Risius – PCM Monroe High School
     Risius has played multiple seasons for the Prairie City Monroe High School softball team. She plans to study Secondary Education and Psychology at Northwestern and is the daughter of Barb and Chad Miller.
"When I talked to Coach Bouman, he made feel welcome and already part of the program," said Risius. "The team members I met were awesome and I am excited to be part of the program."
