Emmy Wedgbury (
Cedar Falls, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College.
Wedgbury is a 5'8"outside hitter who had a standout, three-year career playing for Cedar Falls High School. Wedgbury put away three kills per set and hit .261 on the outside in leading her team to the class 5A state quarterfinals last fall. She served 35 aces and averaged over three digs per set while playing all six rotations.
Wedgbury was named second team all-state and was a three-time all-conference selection. She was part of Cedar Falls team that won the state tournament in 2019 and was the runner-up in 2018.
"Emmy is a great addition to our volleyball program," said Northwestern Head Coach
Kyle Van Den Bosch. "She brings a variety of skills as a volleyball player as she played all six rotations for a state championship team. Emmy will fit in well with our volleyball program and campus community. "We are excited to see Emmy's contributions both on and off the volleyball court at Northwestern."
Wedgbury received the Presidential Gold Scholarship award three years and was named to the academic all-state team. She plans to study Business at Northwestern and is the daughter of Jason and Tish.
"The size of Northwestern allows for more personal connections to be made and relationships to be built, which I really value," stated Wedgbury. "There is an amazing quality to the academic side of Northwestern as well as the history of having a great volleyball program. I found an immediate trust and confidence in Coach Van Den Bosch as well as a sense of friendship when I met the other young ladies on the team."
