Holder To Play Football at Northwestern

Brennan Holder (Rockwell City, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College in the fall.

Holder is a 6'0", 190-pound linebacker / running back who played three years for South Central Calhoun High School. Holder rushed for a team-high 680 yards and 11 touchdowns to go with eight catches for 155 yards and a score. He averaged over six yards per carry. On defense, Holder totaled a team-leading 64 tackles, 11 for a loss, and earned first team all-state honors as a linebacker.

"Brennan is an extremely skilled and talented linebacker," commented Northwestern head coach Matt McCarty. "He has great instincts and finishes plays well. Brennan has the ability to make plays sideline to sideline and we are excited to add him to our Raider defense."

Holder helped lead South Central Calhoun to the class 1A state semifinals and 9-2 record. For his career, he totaled 171.5 tackles and 24 tackles-for-loss. Holder is a two-time all-state and all-district pick and was named the District Defensive Player of the Year. He plans to study Biology / Health Professions at Northwestern and is the son of Lonnie and Tony.

"I chose to attend Northwestern because of its great academics and coaches," said Holder. "The professors and coaches I met made Northwestern feel like home; there is a definite "family fell" to the campus."
