Voss Receives CSC Academic All-America Nod

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Northwestern football student-athlete Trystin Voss has been selected as a College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-America selection, the organization's office announced this morning.

"This is an outstanding honor to cap off an outstanding career," head coach Matt McCarty said. "Trystin excelled as a leader both in the classroom and on the playing field."

Voss excelled in the classroom and on the field in his senior season, starting all 10 games for the Raiders and compiling a 3.99 GPA in actuarial science. The honors rolled in following the season, as Voss was named a First Team NAIA/AFCA All-American, the GPAC Defensive Player of the Year, and a Campbell Trophy semifinalist. He led the team with 15 quarterback hurries, notched five sacks for total losses of 36 yards, and notched 25 tackles. Additionally, the senior from Rogersville, Missouri started four games on both the offensive and defensive line through the final stretch of the season.

He earns his first career CSC Academic All-America honor after being named an Academic All-District selection in each of the last two seasons.
