ORANGE CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern College women's tennis team (2-0, 0-0 GPAC) moves to 2-0 on the season with a 7-0 sweep of NCAA Division III foe, the Wartburg College Knights (4-6, 1-2 A-R-C).
 
The Raiders took the team doubles point with a Wartburg forfeit and a victory for the duo of Julia Kutz (Fr., Sheridan, Wyo.) and Ainslie Robinson (Jr., Luverne, Minn.) defeated Wartburg's Alyssa Guse and Sydney Stout 6-3.
 
In the five singles matches that took place, Northwestern won all five matches. Brailey DeLao (Jr., Mount Belvieu, Tex.) took down Bailey Sinnwell 6-2, 6-0. Wynne Vandersall (Jr., Martelle, Iowa/Mount Vernon) reversed DeLao's score with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Gracie O'Donnell.
 
Robinson picked up the win at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sydney Stout. Jessica Wilson (Jr., Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) rounds out the day with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles over Lily Herrmeyer.
 
Kutz won at No. 1 singles over Wartburg's Alyssa Guse forfeit due to injury. She was leading 6-2, 1-0 when Guse withdrew. The Knights only brought five players to the meet, resulting in forfeits at both No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, ultimately handing the Raiders two free points in the match.
