Northwestern Travels to Doane

Game Time... The Northwestern College men's basketball team looks to continue a two-game win streak as they head to Doane to face the Tigers for the second time this season. Tip-off on Saturday is set 4pm.

Northwestern is currently 7-5 in the GPAC, 12-5 overall; Doane is 2-12 in the conference, 5-14 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern has won three straight and nine of the last 10 meetings against Doane. Northwestern leads the all-time series 48-14, dating back to the 1965-66 season.

Last-Time vs Doane...The Northwestern College men's basketball team made a season-high 17 three-pointers in earning a 98-84 home win over Doane in a conference match-up played December 12th at the Bultman Center. 

Trent Hilbrands scored 27 points, 18 coming from the three-point arc, and was one of five Raiders to score in double figures. Craig Sterk accounted for his second double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds, providing Head Coach Kris Korver's squad a spark off the bench. 

For Doane, Max Masin scored a game-high 32 points, making 8-of-9 three-point attempts. Jaxon Harre and Anthony Laravie scored 16 and 13 points, respectively. Doane shot 48% from the field, 78% (14/18) from the three-point line.

The Tigers are coming off an 89-65 road loss to Hastings, which adds up to their seventh consecutive setback and ninth in their last 10 games. They are currently 2-12 (10th) in the conference, 5-14 overall, with wins over Midland and Hastings in GPAC play.

McKeithan is in the midst of his fifth year as the head of the Doane men's basketball program, taking over prior to the 2015-16 season. He spent three years at Benedictine-Springfield prior to coming to Crete. McKeithan returns two starters and 11 players from a 2019-20 team that went 2-18 in the GPAC, 7-23 overall

The Raiders won their second game in a row, defeating Dakota Welseyan 86-73 Wednesday night in Orange City, Iowa. The win puts Northwestern in sixth place in the conference with a record of 7-5, and 12-5 overall.
