Alberts To Run Cross Country, Track at Northwestern

Caitlin Alberts (Sully, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her cross country and track and field careers at Northwestern College this fall.

Alberts has competed in five varsity sports for Lynnville-Sully High School. A three-time letter winner in cross country, Alberts qualified for the state meet in 2018 where she finished 52nd overall. She earned all-conference three years and has a personal best 5K time of 21:23.

2021-22 Alberts Track cross country"We are thrilled to have Caitlin join both our women's cross country and track teams," said Northwestern Head Coach Scott Bahrke. "She possesses outstanding work ethic and has a team-first mindset who will bring great character to our teams and campus."

Alberts qualified for the state track and field meet in multiple events, both in 2018 and 2019. She has a personal best of 1:04.7 in the 400m. Alberts was part of part of two state qualifying teams in softball and was named to the all-state team in 2020. An honor roll student, Alberts plans to study Exercise Science at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Trent and Kari.

"I chose to attend Northwestern because of the amazing Christian atmosphere, the beautiful campus and the great people I met during my visit," commented Alberts. "Northwestern is a place where I can grow in my faith as well as get a great education."
