Northwestern College earned a 3-0 win over Missouri Baptist in the season opener for both teams played this afternoon at the Raiders Soccer Complex.

Ezekiel Foltz accounted for eight saves and picked up a shutout in his first career start as a Raider. Northwestern outshot the Spartans 19-10, including a 10-8 edge with shots on goal.
 

Joshua Wingfield opened the games scoring with a goal during the 24th minute off an assist from Marco Alessio. Philippe Patri gave Head Coach Dan Swier's squad a 2-0 lead when the senior received a ball from Juan Mackrey and one-timed it into the back of the net at the 33-minute mark. 

Up 2-0, Northwestern senior forward Jake Foscalina scored the lone goal in the second half off a ball sent in by Matt Roll on a set play. 

Wingfield (3), Foscalina (2) and Alessio (2) combined for seven of the Raiders 10 shots on goal.
