Women's Soccer Drops GPAC Opener

Kaelin Alons picked up 14 saves against CSM

Northwestern College fell short in its GPAC opener to College of Saint Mary (Neb.) 2-0 in a match played tonight in Orange City, Iowa. The Raiders are now 0-1-1 on the year; CSM improves to 1-0 on the year.

Kaelin Alons made 14 saves in goal for the Raiders, 11 in the first half; Alons has stopped 28 shots in two games this season. 
 

College of Saint Mary opened the game's scoring during the ninth minute when Kaylie Retzlaff headed in a corner kick from Emily Riley. The Flames added their second goal when Kylie Anderson found the back of the net off a deflection from six-yards out. 

Molly Ryan and Katie Jacob had one shot on goal to lead the Raider offense.

Northwestern will return to play on Saturday, Sept. 19 against Briar Cliff in Sioux City.
