Vermeer To Play Basketball At Northwestern

Jack Vermeer (Pella, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College beginning this fall.

Vermeer is a 6'2" point guard who played three years for Pella Christian High School. Vermeer averaged 10 points, three assists and over two rebounds per game in leading his team to the state tournament as a senior. He shot 36% from the three-point line, 80% from the free throw line, and received all-conference recognition. Named team captain as a senior, Vermeer is an honor roll student and plans to study Business / Sports Management at Northwestern. He is the son of Dan and Tricia.

"Jack is a talented, all-around player," said Northwestern Head Coach Kris Korver. "He is strong, quick, can defend well, and is a good shooter. Jack really enjoys the game and has been coached well throughout his high school career, finished off with a trip to the state tournament. We are very familiar with Jack as he has come to our camps in the past. He is a great addition to our team and to our campus."
