Smith To Play Football At Northwestern

Tyler Smith (Sherman, Texas) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College this fall.

Smith is a 6'2", 290-pound offensive lineman who played three years for the Sherman High School football team. Smith was an all-district and first team all-area selection after leading his team to a 6-4 record last year. Named team captain and also a regional qualifier in power lifting, Smith plans to study both Communications and Sports Medicine at Northwestern. He is the son of Bobby and Allison.

"Tyler is a strong, physical lineman," stated Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. "Tyler possesses the traits we look for in our offensive linemen and look forward to working with him over the next four years."
