Ayers To Play Football At Northwestern

Ethan Ayers (Murray, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his football career at Northwestern College in the fall.

Ayers is a 6'4", 305-pound offensive / defensive lineman who played four years for the East Union Community School football team. Ayers helped pave the way for an offense that scored 36 touchdowns and averaged over five yards per play. On defense, Ayers ranked fourth on the team with 46.5 tackles, seven for a loss, to go with two quarterback sacks. He received both all-district and academic all-conference honors three years. Ayers plans to major in Sports Management at Northwestern and is the son of Amanda.

"Ethan is an outstanding addition along our offensive line," said Northwestern Head Coach Matt McCarty. "He is a strong, physical player who has great potential as a college player. We look forward to coaching Ethan over the next four years."
