After a scoreless first inning, Northwestern plated six runs in the second, beginning with a solo home run by Cullinan and ending on a two-run single from the freshman right fielder. The Red Raiders added two more runs in the third, one in the sixth and ended the game with a two-run eighth.

Chad Uhing (1-3) took the loss for the Broncos, giving up two hits, six runs in 1.1 innings.
