Northwestern has a 10-8 record coming into the weekend; Hastings is 4-11.

Hastings has dropped two straight and brings a 4-11 record into Friday's doubleheader against Northwestern. They went 2-2 in four-game set against Mayville State last weekend, losing the final two games, 3-2 and 5-2. The Broncos have also played Ottawa, Friends, Science and Arts and Kansas Wesleyan.
Spongberg is in his seventh season as the Broncos head coach after a long stint as both a high school and Legion Coach. He returns seven starters, six pitchers and 15 players from a 2019 team that finished 10th in the GPAC with a 6-21 record, 12-29 overall. They were picked 10th in the preseason poll.

The Red Raiders have won a season-best five straight heading into Friday's doubleheader. Wins over Bethesda, Presentation (2) and Bethany Lutheran (2) have put Coach Wede's club two games above .500 at 10-8.  
Northwestern was picked fourth in the GPAC preseason coaches' poll, behind Concordia, Jamestown and Midland. Head Coach
