Savonne Sterk (
Lynden, Wash.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball and track and field careers at Northwestern College this fall.

Sterk is a 5'10" outside hitter who played four years for the Lynden High School volleyball team. Named team captain as a senior, Sterk earned first team all-conference honors after leading her team to a sixth place finish at the state tournament with a 17-4 record.
"Savonne is a perfect fit for our volleyball program," said Northwestern Head Coach
Kyle Van Den Bosch. "She is a very skilled, all-around player who works hard at improving her game. Savonne enjoys the game of volleyball, is a good teammate and we look forward to her contributions both on and off the court at Northwestern."
Also a four-year letter winner in track and field, Sterk ran for a 4x400 relay that won the state championship last spring. She has personal bests of 60.1 in the open 400m, 58.8 as a split in the 4x400 relay. An outstanding student, Sterk plans to study Nursing at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Jim and Vonda.
