Schaub Chooses Northwestern

Olivia Schaub (Scottsbluff, Neb.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College.

Schaub is a 6'1" outside hitter who joins the Raiders after playing for Western Nebraska Community College two years. Schaub was part of a Cougars team that finished third at regionals with a 28-9 final record in the fall of 2019. She will play her sophomore season at WNCC this spring.

2021 Schaub volleyball recruit"Olivia is a great addition to our volleyball program," commented Northwestern head coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. "She is a long, physical attacker who has played at a high level community college. Olivia is a great fit for our team and for Northwestern; we are excited to welcome Olivia to our volleyball program."

Schaub had a standout, three-year career playing multiple sports for Gering High School. She was named the school's female athlete of the year and earned both all-conference and all-tournament honors in volleyball as a senior. For her high school career at Gering, she totaled 584 kills, 639 digs, 89 aces and 85 blocks.

Schaub received National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) all-academic honors and was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. She plans to study exercise science at Northwestern and is the daughter of Jama McFarland.
