Men's Basketball Hosts Doane This Weekend

Game Time... The Northwestern College men's basketball team looks to rebound after a close road loss when they host GPAC-foe Doane in a conference match-up this weekend. Tip-off on Saturday is set for 4pm. Northwestern is currently 4-3 in the GPAC, 7-3 overall; Doane is 2-5 in the conference, 5-7 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern has won two straight and nine of the last 10 meetings against Doane. Last year, the Raiders earned an 83-73 home win and came from behind to defeat Doane 97-95 (2 OT) in Crete, Neb. Northwestern leads the all-time series 47-14, dating back to the 1965-66 season.

The Tigers picked up a 95-72 home win over Hastings last time out, a victory that snapped a two-game losing streak. The 95 points scored was a season-high for Doane, who has been held under 80 points eight times this season. They are currently 2-5 in the conference, 5-7 overall, with their other GPAC win coming against Midland (68-64). 

McKeithan is in the midst of his fifth year as the head of the Doane men's basketball program, taking over prior to the 2015-16 season. He spent three years at Benedictine-Springfield prior to coming to Crete. McKeithan returns two starters and 11 players from a 2019-20 team that went 2-18 in the GPAC, 7-23 overall

The Raiders had their season-high, three-game win streak snapped last time out, falling to Dakota Wesleyan 82-76 Wednesday night in Mitchell, S.D. All three of the Raiders losses this season have come on the road and by a combined 11 points.
