Northwestern is 0-2 in the GPAC, 0-5 overall; Midland brings a 2-1 league record, 5-1 overall into the Saturday's game.

All-Time...Saturday's game will be the 59th in the rivalry between Northwestern and Midland, dating back to the 1977-78 season. Northwestern has won 10 straight in the rivalry and holds a 44-14 edge in the all-time series. 
    Last year, the Raiders defeated Midland 78-71 in Orange City, 95-87 in Fremont.

The Warriors are off to 5-1 start to the 2020-21 season, 2-1 in conference play. They began with a 4-0 record, a win streak that included a 91-79 road win over defending GPAC Champion Concordia on Nov. 10. Midland lost to Dordt on Nov.14, 70-58, its only setback of the season so far, but came back with an 82-78 win over Hastings last weekend. 
Gilbert is in his eighth season as the Warriors head coach, taking over the Midland program in 2013-14. Prior to Midland, Gilbert served as the recruiting coordinator at the University of Nebraska, a role he held for four seasons. Last year, Midland tied Briar Cliff for eighth place in the GPAC with an 8-14 record, 12-19 overall. They return three starters and 10 players from last year's team; they were picked to finish ninth in the GPAC preseason poll.
