Women's Soccer Returns Field, Hosts Doane

Raiders are currently in ninth place in the GPAC

Game Time... The Northwestern College women's soccer team returns to the field this weekend as they host Doane for a conference match. Saturday's kickoff is slated for 5pm. Northwestern has dropped its last two games and is currently in ninth place in the GPAC with a 2-5 record, 2-5-1 overall. Doane is winless this season, going 0-6-3 in the GPAC, 0-8-3 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series, 16-11, against Doane, dating back to the first ever match between the rivals in 1996. The Raiders have dominated the series of late, winning eight straight and nine of the last 10. Last year, Northwestern earned a 3-0 win against the Tigers, getting a pair of goals from Megan Sattler.

The Tigers lost to Concordia last time out (7-0) in a match played on the road in Seward, Neb. Prior to that, Doane played both Midland (0-0) and Dordt (1-1) to ties. They have two matches left in the regular season after this weekend, home dates against Mount Marty and Morningside.

Hired in 2016, Kennedy-Croft is in her fifth season as the head of the Tigers women's soccer program. A former starter for the University of Connecticut, Kennedy-Croft was an assistant coach for several D-II programs in the northeast prior to coming to Doane. She returns five starters, 13 players from a 2019 team that finished 12th in the GPAC at 1-9-2, 5-10-2 overall.
