Game Time...The Northwestern College volleyball team puts its eight match win streak on the line as they make the short trip to Sioux Center for a rematch against Dordt Tuesday night. First serve is scheduled for 7:30pm at the DeWitt Gym. The Raiders are 1/2 game in back of unbeaten Jamestown in the currrent GPAC standings with a 10-1 record, 12-1 overall. Dordt is in fourth place in the conference standings with a 10-5 record, 11-5 overall.Â

All-Time... The Raiders hold a slight advantage in the series, 46-43, dating back to the 1989 season. Northwestern has won four of its last 10 matches; is 2-3 over its last five; and lost its last match against the Defenders, played earlier this year.Â
Last Time vs Dordt...Northwestern was defeated by the Defenders 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-16) in a home match played Oct. 5 at the Bultman Center.
Anna Wedel was the lone Raider in double figures, totaling 12 in 24 swings, hitting .458% for the match.
Lacey Reitz totaled 27 assists and five digs and
Emily Strasser led the backrow with 11 digs.Â
The Raiders hit .146, compared to .337 by the Defenders, by far the highest an opponent has hit against the Raiders, this season. Corrina Timmermans (12) and Allison Timmermans led Dordt in kills; Megan Raszler put up 43 assists.
Scouting the Defenders... The Defenders have been on a roll of late, winning their last five matches since a 3-0 loss to Midland on Oct. 10. They are 15-3 in sets played in wins over Hastings, Doane, Briar Cliff, Mount Marty and College of Saint Mary. Most recently, Dordt has a five set win against College of Saint Mary last weekend to move to 10-5 in the GPAC with Tuesday's match to be played in the regular season. They are 11-5 overall.Â
Hanson is in the midst of his 10th season as the Defenders head coach after serving as an assistant for three seasons at the University of Georgia. During his time at Dordt, Hanson has guided the Defenders to five NAIA national tournaments, finishing as the national runner-up in 2016 and 2017. Hanson was named the national coach of the year in 2017 and is a two-time GPAC Coach of the Year. He returns six starters, 10 players, from a 2019 team that finished fifth in the GPAC with a 9-7 record, 18-11 overall.Â
