Women's Soccer Falls Short Against Hastings

The Northwestern College women's soccer team lost to Hastings 3-1 in a conference match played today on Lloyd Wilson Field in Hastings, Neb. The Raiders are now 2-5 in conference play, 2-5-1 overall; Hastings improves to 5-2 in the GPAC, 7-2 overall. 

Down 2-0 at halftime, Northwestern played the Broncos even over the final 45 minutes. Emily Hurley netted her team's first goal just six minutes into the final frame to make it a one goal game. Hurley leads Head Coach Ben Karnish's team with three goals. Hastings came back with a goal during the 62nd minute by Jacqueline Gilbert, her second of the game.

April Van Tol made a career-high eight saves in goal for the Raiders. Hurley recorded two her team's five shots on goal and Katie Jacob, Des Rodriguez and Anna DeWitt all had one shot on goal.
