Game Time... After a two-week long break from competition, the Northwestern College women's soccer team returns to the field for a home match against Dordt on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Competition begins at 5pm. Northwestern has won two straight games, both in conference play, and is 2-3 in the GPAC, 2-3-1 overall; Dordt is 4-4-1 in conference play, 5-5-1 overall.

All-Time...The Raiders are 9-21 all-time in the rivalry against Dordt, dating back to their first match in 1996. Northwestern has had the upperhand of late, winning eight of its last 10. Last year's contest went to the Defenders, 3-2, as Dordt rallied from an early 0-2 deficit to earn the come-from-behind win.

The Defenders have nearly played their entire regular season schedule, bring a 4-4-1 GPAC record, 5-5-1 overall, into Wednesday's game. They are currently sixth in the conference with three matches left to be played this fall. Most recently, they are 1-2 over the last two weeks, earning a 1-0 win against Midland and losing to both Morningside and Jamestown.
An all-conference player for the Defenders, Durbin is in his first season as the head coach for his alma mater. He previously served as an assistant in 2019, an assistant with the Defenders volleyball team for two years and a head coach at Western Christian High School. He inherited a Defender team that returns nine starters, 16 players, from a 2019 squad that finished fourth in the GPAC at 7-4-1, 10-8-1 overall.
