Men's Basketball At Doane On Saturday

Game Time...19th-ranked Northwestern travels to Crete, Neb. to play Doane in a conference match-up this weekend. Tip-off at the Haddix Center on Saturday is scheduled for 4pm. Both look to bounce back after big losses on Thursday night. Northwestern has dropped two of its last three games, falling to Concordia at home last night, and is 5-2 in the GPAC, 13-4 overall. Doane lost on the road to Dordt Thursday night, its fourth straight setback, and is 0-7 in the GPAC, 4-12 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series 45-14 and is 8-2 in its last 10 games against Doane. Last year, the teams split during the regular season, each winning on its home court.

Since defeating both Presentation and Dakota State over Thankgiving break, Doane has dropped four consecutive games, all within GPAC play. They are winless in the conference (0-7) and 4-12 overall. Doane's other two wins are against Sterling (Kan.) and York (Neb.) in early November.

McKeithan is in his fourth season as the head of the Tigers men's basketball program, coming to Doane after a four-year stint in the same role at Benedictine - Springfield. He returns two starters and nine players from a 2018-19 team that finished tied with Midland for ninth place in the GPAC with a 5-15 record, 9-21 overall. They were picked 10th in the GPAC preseason poll.

The Red Raiders have lost two of their last three games since a season-long, seven-game win streak. They lost to Westcliff in the middle of a three-game road swing in California and then dropped an 88-65 decision at the hand of Concordia Thursday night in GPAC play. Northwestern is still in fourth place in the current GPAC standings at 5-2, 1/2 game up on Dordt and 1/2 game in back of Mount Marty. They are 13-4 overall.
