Abigail Bender (
Battle Creek, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College.
Bender is a 5'2" libero who recently completed a standout, three-year career playing for the OABCIG High School volleyball team. Bender totaled 364 digs, averaging four per set, and 33 aces in leading her team to the conference championship and 28-7 overall record last fall. She earned first team all-conference and all-Northwest Iowa honors for the third straight year. Bender finished her career with over 1,000 digs and is member of both the honor roll and National Honor Society. Bender plans to study Biology/Health Professions (Pre-Med) and Spanish at Northwestern and is the daughter of Roger and Chandra.
"Abby completed a great high school career at OABCIG as their libero," stated Northwestern Head Coach
Kyle Van Den Bosch. "She plays with great determination and desire to keep the ball off the floor. Abby accounted for 1,000 digs throughout her career and we are excited that she has decided to join the Red Raider volleyball program."
