Sammy Blum scored a game-high 24 points and the Red Raiders forced 37 turnovers in earning a 99-59 win over College of Saint Mary in a make-up conference game played tonight at the Bultman Center.Â
The win snapped the Red Raiders three-game losing streak as they move to 7-6 in the GPAC, 12-6 overall. College of Saint Mary drops to 2-11 in the conference, 5-15 overall.Â
Blum made all four of her three-point attempts in the first half and drained one more over the final 20 minutes en route to a 24-point effort, her second 20+ game of the season. The junior dished out three assists, becoming the 29th player in program history with 200 in a career.Â

Hannah Nerem contributed 12 points each and
Taylor VanderVelde marked up the stat sheet with 11 points, six assists and four steals.Â
College of Saint Mary scored the opening basket, a three-pointer from Alyssa Laudato, only to have Northwestern score the next 11 points on a pair of three-pointers by
Bre Schuiteman and one from Blum. Holding onto a four-point lead (17-13), Northwestern closed the quarter with six straight points, all from the free throw line, for its first double digit lead.
A three-pointer from Blum and basket by Nerem put the Red Raiders in front by 18 (48-30), their largest lead of the first half. Consecutive baskets by Clare Lewandowski made it a 14-point game but
Jada Cunningham drained a three-pointer to give the hosts a 51-34 advantage by the break.Â
Northwestern put the game away with a 15-2 run during the first six minutes of the third quarter, extending their lead to 30 (66-36). The Red Raiders continued to pour it on in the final quarter, outscoring the Flames 30-17 during the final 10 minutes.

Chris Yaw's squad shot 44% for the game, 50% (10/20) from beyond the arc.
Maddie Jones matched her career-high with eight points, making 6-of-7 free throw attempts.
Brooke Hunwardsen nabbed a career-high six steals and
Emilee Danner added four steals and five rebounds.Â
College of Saint Mary shot 41% for the game, 28% (5/18) from the three-point line, and was led by Lewandowski with 19 points. The Flames outrebounded NW 48-35 but committed 37 turnovers compared to 10 by the Red Raiders.
