Game Time... No.2 Northwestern hosts a pair of matches this weekend for Homecoming. On Friday night, the Red Raiders are paired against York for a non-conference match-up at 7:30pm. They will come back to play 13th-ranked Jamestown on Saturday at 5pm in a match-up between two of the top teams in the GPAC.Â

All-Time...The Red Raiders are 4-0 all-time against York, defeating the Panthers in four sets earlier this season at the Bellevue Classic. Northwestern is 10-1 all-time against Jamestown, earning two wins last year, both by 3-0 scores. The Red Raiders have won four of the last five against Jamestown.

Since its 2-1 start to the 2019 season, York has lost 14 of its next 15 matches for a 3-15 record heading into Friday night's match. The Panthers have dropped seven consecutive matches and last won on Sept. 4 against Kansas Wesleyan. They are winless in six matches against GPAC teams, including a 3-1 loss to Northwestern at the GoSarpy.com Invite, hosted by Bellevue, on August 30.
Nething, in her second year as the head of the York program, returns eight starters, including two all-conference players, from a 2018 team that went 3-9 in the KCAC, 9-26 overall. They were picked to finish 11th of 13 teams in the KCAC preseason poll.

The Jimmies are one of three teams still unbeaten in conference play (Northwestern, Midland) heading into the weekend where they play Dordt on Friday night and Northwestern on Saturday. Jamestown is 4-0 in the conference, defeating Dordt, Mount Marty, Dakota Wesleyan and Briar Cliff. They are 14-2 overall, losing only to Viterbo (3-1) and SAGU (Texas) in five sets.Â
Hegerle has over 250 wins and is in his 11th season as the Jimmies head coach. A former assistant at Marshall High School, Hegerle was named the North Star Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 2017 and has guided the Jimmies to the national tournament the last two years. He returns eight starters and 10 players from a 2018 team that finished fifth in the GPAC at 10-6, 24-9 overall.Â
