The Red Raiders fell to Bellevue University (Neb.) 3-0 Saturday night.

Northwestern fell behind in the 27th minute after a goal from Austyn Brinkley who headed home the finish from a Morgan Penn cross. 

The Bruins would go up 2-0 in the 38th minute off a long shot from Frderico Umani Ronch.

The final goal for the Bruins came in the 56th minute when Andy Janssen got a ball from Ricky Reyes and smashed home a finish back post past Jason Rosema who spelled James Warren quick into the second half after Warren went down with an injury. 

"Bellevue are playing well after knocking off the reigning national champions," commented head coach Dan Swier. "We weren't up for the task tonight and got punished on a couple of simple mistakes. I am looking forward to having a week off to re-group before we start conference play next weekend."

The Raiders kick off the GPAC season on Saturday, September 21 at Concordia University (Neb.).
