Raiders Pummel Beavers

The Raiders (3-2-1) finish their non-conference schedule with a 7-0 pounding of the Beavers from Buena Vista University (1-4) Tuesday night.

The scoring started in the first 5 minutes for NWC as Emily Hurley found a pass from MacKenzie Bammer and placed the ball around the keeper.

The Raiders would add two more in the first half with goals from Nikky Farnsworth and Audrey Tacey. Northwestern held BVU to no shots in the first half.

NWC would start off the second half quickly with another goal by Emily Hurley. This time, the goal came a minute into the first half.

Northwestern would add three more tallies on the day. Farnsworth would complete her hat trick in the 57th minute while Hurley would get her second of the day in the 63rd minute. Audrey Tacey would get her second goal of the night in the 84th minute.

Liz Foster earned the win and the shutout having to make only 3 saves on the night.

"It was a performance that wasn't always dominant but when we were clicking, we could have put away multiple goals," commented head coach Ben Karnish. "It is good to see us generate the amount of chances we did and to continue to improve throughout the game."

The Raiders will kick off conference play on September 21 when they head to Concordia University (Neb.).
