All-Time...This will be the fourth ever match-up between the two teams with Northwestern owning a 3-0 record against the Statesmen. The Red Raiders swept matches in both 2015 and 2007 while earning a 3-1 win in 2008.

  William Penn Statesmen: 3-1          Head Coach: Aleesha Cleaver (2nd year)
The Statesmen went 3-1 playing in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Fall Fling last weekend in Hutchinson, Kan. They began with a sweep over Sterling and followed with a pair of five-set wins over both Tabor and Friends. William Penn concluded the productive weekend with a 3-1 setback against McPherson. Tuesday's match against the Red Raiders followed with a tournament this weekend will take WPU into the beginning of conference play next week.
Cleaver returns for her second season as the head of the William Penn program after serving in the same role at Southwest Community College for two years. Cleaver, a former player for Upper Iowa University, returns four starters and eight letter winners from a 2018 team that finished 11th in the 13-team Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season at 6-12, 19-15 overall. They were picked to finish ninth in the preseason poll.

The Red Raiders went a perfect 3-0 at their Classic last weekend, earning a pair of 3-0 wins (Wayland Baptist and Baker) and a 3-2 victory over 19th-ranked Corban. Saturday's win over Baker marked the 400th victory for Coach Van Den Bosch in his 15 years at NWC and the second coach in program history to achieve that milestone.
