Knuppe To Play Basketball at Northwestern

Jayda Knuppe (Dell Rapids, S.D.) has signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Northwestern College next year.

13637Knuppe was a multi-sports standout who enjoyed an outstanding three-year career playing for the Dell Rapids High School basketball team. As a 5'9' forward/post, Knuppe accumulated 976 career points, averaging 17 points per game her senior season. Knuppe was able to spread out the court by knocking down 23 three points shots on the season, shooting at a 41.67% rate, and pulled down a team-high 6.2 rebounds per contest. As a senior, Knuppe was a first team all-conference member, second team all-state (second time in three seasons), and was the Quarrier Female Athlete of the Year. Knuppe excelled in the classroom as well, being named both a Regent Scholar and Scholar Athlete of the Year. She will pursue a chemistry major at Northwestern College and is the daughter of Jay and Michelle Buffalo Knuppe.

"We look forward to having Jayda join our women's basketball program," commented Northwestern Head Coach Chris Yaw. "We are excited for her impact both on our team and on our campus. Jayda has been a multi-sport athlete and great student for Dell Rapids High School. Her mix of competitiveness and the ability to play different positions has led to individual and team success on the basketball court."
