Softball Travels To Grand View

Game Time...Winners of three straight, Northwestern will put its current win streak on the line with a road doubleheader against (RV) Grand View scheduled for Tuesday, April 9. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 2pm. Northwestern brings a 9-11 record into Tuesday's doubleheader while Grand View is 20-5 on the year and has won 10 straight games.

All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series against Grand View 5-4 dating back to the first match-up in 1994. The teams last played in 2014 in a doubleheader that ended with a split, 6-4 win for NW in game one and a 6-4 loss in game two.

    (RV) Grand View Vikings: 12-2 (1st), 20-5       Head Coach: Lou Yacinich (17th year)


The Vikings are unbeaten in April and have won 10 straight games heading into Tuesday's games against Northwestern. They are currently receiving votes in the national poll with a 20-5 record and are in first place in the Heart Of America Athletic Conference at 12-2. Last time out, Grand View swept Graceland 9-1 and 13-1

Yacinich is in his 17th season as the head of the Grand View softball program, earning HAAC Coach of the Year honors after leading the Vikings to the regular and postseason titles in league play. They qualified for the NAIA Opening Round and finished with a 48-10 record. Five starters and 10 players overall return from last year's squad.
