Raiders Take on Doane and Hastings in Key Weekend Matchups

Friday, April 12, 2019

The Red Raiders (4-7, 1-3 GPAC) travel to Nebraska Friday and Saturday to take on Doane University (2-9, 1-2 GPAC) and Hastings College (8-4, 4-0 GPAC) in two big GPAC tennis matches. The Raiders have three matches left and likely need at least one win to make the GPAC Tournament. Friday's match start at 4pm and Saturday's match starts at 9am.

Scouting Doane

The Tigers are coming off a 0-9 loss to College of Saint Mary on April 9.

Doane has beat Mount Marty and Nebraska Wesleyan University on the year.

Scouting Hastings

The Broncos are coming off a 7-2 win over Mount Marty on April 9 and also beat CSM the day before in a tight match, 5-4.

Hastings currently leads the conference and has provided losses to Concordia (2nd place) and CSM (3rd place). They are on track to win the regular season championshp as long as they don't lose more than one match.

Scouting Northwestern

Northwestern is coming of a 4-5 loss to Morningside on April 8th.

The Raiders have been lead by Kendra McGinnis and Zoe Holscher in singles play. McGinnis is 6-5 on the year and Holscher is 5-6. Emma Van Drie has also performed well in conference going 2-2 in her first four matches.

McGinnis is currently t-6th all time with Allyson Dailey (2000-02) with 26 wins. She would surpass her with a win this weekend.

Holscher, currently tied for 15th all time for career wins at NWC, would jump to 14th with one win and with two wins, jump to 11th with a 2-0 day.
