Northwestern College dropped a pair of games on day two of its spring break trip in Tucson, Ariz. The Red Raiders lost game one 8-3 to Madonna (Mich.) and came up short in game two against Siena Heights, 4-1.Â

Game One...
Northwestern plated all its runs in the second inning as they opened up a 3-0 lead.
Amber Schubert led off with a double, advanced to third on a ground out and then scored on a triple by
Bri Giordano.
Hailey Louw added an RBI double that scored
Jordyn Kramer, who reached base on a fielders choice. Louw later stole third and came around to score on a throwing error by the Crusaders.Â
Madonna came back with all eight of its runs in the fourth on nine hits and one error off two Red Raider pitchers,
Sydnee Isom and
Samantha Ubben. Selena Deault had a pinch-hit, two-run double and Becky Giacobbi belted a two-run triple.
Giordano led the Red Raiders with two hits and four others had one hit each. Isom allowed eight hits and four earned runs in three-plus innings for the loss.Â
Game Two...
Northwestern and Siena Heights combined for just nine hits in a pitchers dual between
Emma Schnell for the Red Raiders and Racquel Ward for SHU. Schnell gave up six hits and three earned run in the full six innings, striking out two. Ward bettered her counterpart in the circle, giving up three hits and one run in seven innings.Â
Schubert put the Red Raiders in front with an RBI double in the fourth, scoring
Jennifer Boeve from second. Siena Heights tied the game one inning later after a leadoff triple by Ashley Helmi, who came around to score after a NW error. SHU took the lead for good with three runs in the sixth, using a run-scoring double by Helmi and RBI single from Lauren Valde.
