Raiders Start 1-2 In Arizona

Northwestern College split a double header against Waldorf on Tuesday evening in Tucson, Arizona. Northwestern also dropped a Wednesday game against #7 Antelope Valley.

Raiders are now 3-6 on the season. 

Game 1- Northwestern (6) vs Waldorf (7)

The Red Raiders totaled ten hits in their game one loss. Drew Schutt went 3-for-3 with a run scored. Ben De Boer went 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI. 

Alec Rickabaugh took the loss, giving up three earned runs and five hits in 3.2 innings. Mitchell Diekevers, Sutton Derr, and Ben Zeutenhorst pitched the final 2.1 innings.

Game 2- Northwestern (13) vs Waldorf (0)

Northwestern racked up 13 hits including two doubles by Josh Fakkema, triples by Colton Harold and Drew Schutt, and a towering three run homerun by A.J. Nitzschke. Zachary Rosson was 3-3 with four RBI's on the game. Nitzschke and Fakkema also had three hits in the contest. 

Brady Roberts picked up the complete game shutout for the Raiders, Roberts moves to 2-1 on the season. Roberts scattered five hits over the seven innings and struck out five Waldorf hitters. This was Roberts first collegiate complete game and shutout of his career.

Game 3- Northwestern (1) vs #7 Antelope Valley (8)

Raiders struggled to get the offense going as they tallied six hits. Mason O'Donnell and Austin Zylstra led the way each going 2-for-4 on the day. Colton Harold drove in the lone run for the Raiders with an RBI double in the 6th inning.

Luke Hughes pitched well going 5.1 innings, allowing eight hits, three earned runs, while striking out four. Andrew Mescher, Ryan Reynolds, Shadrach Wacker, and CJ Gordon went the final 3.2 innings.
