Brett Shelton (Clive, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Northwestern College Next fall.

Shelton is a 6'1" pitcher / corner infielder who attends Des Moines Christian High School. Shelton enjoyed an outstanding junior season, both on the mound and at the plate. Shelton posted a 6-1 record with a very good 0.95 ERA in 36.2 innings pitched. He totaled 46 strikeouts and held opponents to a .143 batting average. Offensively he hit .317 in 82 at bats, leading his team in RBIs (22) and was second on the team with six doubles. Shelton earned both first team all-conference and all-district honors while also being named the team's pitcher of the year. Shelton is also a member of National Honor Society and high honor roll and plans to major in Finance at Northwestern. He is the son of Doug and Brenda.

Head Coach Wede said, "Brett is a pitcher we really like. He has been an important piece of the DMC rotation and will be relied upon again to anchor their pitching staff. With his experience at the front of a rotation, we are hopeful he can come make an impact on our staff as well. Brett is also someone who really is a great match for NWC and will have a great experience here."
