All-Time...Northwestern leads the all-time series 62-28, dating back to the 1985 season. The Red Raiders swept both games last season, winning 6-4 and 4-3 in eight innings, and are 6-4 over the last 10.

The Defenders have been idle since closing its Arizona trip with a 5-3 win over St.Xavier (Ill.) on March 15. Dordt is 3-2 over its last five games and owns a 6-9 overall record. 

Zomer has a 187-211 overall record heading into his 10th season as the Defenders' head coach. He returns four starters and 10 players from a 2018 squad that finished 24-20 and tied for fourth place in the GPAC regular season at 11-9. They were picked tied for sixth, along with Doane, in the GPAC preseason poll.
