#12 Northwestern scored the first 17 points and in its 98-25 rout over Waldorf in the final game of the 2019 calendar year for both teams. The Red Raiders improve to 10-2 as they head into the rigors of GPAC play fulltime in the new year.
Sammy Blum led all players with 18 points, all scored from behind the arc in making a season-high six three-pointers. The junior guard also dished out a season-high seven assists in just 19 minutes of action.
Emilee Danner scored 13 points and grabbed seven boards while both
Alexis Toering and
Bre Schuiteman scored 10 points each.
A three-pointer by Blum capped a 17-0 run to start the game as Northwestern raced out to a 30-4 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Red Raiders limited Waldorf to one field goal over the first 10 minutes.Â
The Red Raiders outscored Waldorf 21-6 in the second quarter and led 51-10 at the half, shooting 51% from the field compared to 13% by the Warriors.Â
Both teams converted their first four shots of the third quarter but Northwestern closed the period with an 18-1 run over the final six minutes for a 79-21 advantage. Head Coach

Northwestern shot 48% from the field, 53% (16/30) from the three-point line. They held a huge advantage on the boards, 50-28, and forced Waldorf into 32 turnovers with 21 steals. All 13 Red Raider players scored and saw at least 11 minutes of court time.
Morgan Straight was the only Waldorf player in double figures with 11 points.Â
