Game Time...12th-ranked Northwestern returns to action this weekend against Midland for its final conference game prior to the new year. Saturday's game is set for a 2pm tip-off in Fremont, Neb. Northwestern currently sits in fifth place in the GPAC with a 4-2 record, 8-2 overall; Midland is tied with Briar Cliff for ninth place in the GPAC with a 1-5 league record, 4-8 overall.

All-Time...Northwestern has won eight straight in the rivalry against Midland, including three wins last season (two in regular season, one in GPAC quarterfinals). The Red Raiders are 42-14 all-time against Midland since the 1977-78 season.

The Warriors have lost four straight, six of their last seven, to fall to 4-8 on the young 2019-20 season. Since defeating College of Saint Mary on Nov. 23, they have lost to Hastings, Central Methodist, Morningside and Dordt, all by double-digit margin. Midland is tied with Briar Cliff for ninth place in the current GPAC standings at 1-5, 4-8 overall. 

Gilbert returns three starters, nine players from a 2018-19 team that finished tied for seventh in the GPAC with a 10-12 record, 15-14 overall. Hired in the spring of 2013, Gilbert spent four years prior as an assistant for the University of Nebraska women's program.

The Red Raiders lost to Hastings last time out, 72-62, in a game played at the Bultman Center on Dec. 7. A close game throughout, the Broncos pulled away during the last six minutes to stay unbeaten on the year. Northwestern, one of six teams from the GPAC ranked in the top 25, is 4-2 in the conference, 8-2 overall.
