Balanced Scoring Keys Red Raider Win Over Ozark Christian

Five Red Raiders scored in double figures as Northwestern earned a 107-60 home win over Ozark Christian in the final game of day one of the 2019 Pizza Ranch Men's Basketball Classic played today at the Bultman Center.

The Red Raiders improve to 3-1 on the year.

Trent Hilbrands, Craig Sterk and Keegan Van Egdom all scored 16 points to lead the balanced scoring effort. Van Egdom's scoring effort marked a career-high as the junior made 3-of-7 three-point attempts. Jay Small netted 15 points, making three three-pointers, and Grant DeMeulenaere scored 13 for Head Coach Kris Korver's squad.

A basket by Grant Rohrer put Northwestern up for good (19-17) and began a 27-3 run as the hosts seized control of the game. The Red Raiders held a 50-28 advantage at the half, shooting 49% from the field and limiting Ozark Christian to 30% shooting.

Following a three-pointer by Ambassador guard Deion Clark to start the second half, Northwestern put the game away with a 17-5 run, ending with a three-pointer by Van Egdom. Another 14-5 surge put the hosts up 40 with 11 minutes left as Coach Korver was able to clear his bench for much of the final 10 minutes.

Northwestern shot 48% for the game, 31% (13/42) from the three-point line and made 18-of-22 free throw attempts. They held a commanding 54-39 edge on the boards, led by Sterk with nine and Dalton Moser with seven. Hilbrands led Korver's squad with four assists.

Miles Dressler and Deion Clark led Ozark Christian with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
