The Red Raiders fell to the Hastings College Broncos Thursday night 5-1 in the GPAC Quarterfinals.
The Raiders finish 9-9-1 overall on the year.
The scoring started in the 8th minute off a corner for the Broncos. Courtney Doeschot nodded home the cross from Taren Newman.
Abby Morillon scored the second goal for the Broncos in the 20th minute off a build up in the final third and an eventual finish past
Liz Foster.
The Raiders would cut the lead in half in the 22nd when
Nikky Farnsworth would finish off the hustle play by
Emily Hurley who created the goal.
Kaylie Agostine would extend the Bronco lead back to 2 in the 38th minute off another corner kick.
Laurie Potvin would add the fourth for the Broncos in the 68th minute on another corner kick and Carolyn Hopkins would put the 5th in the back of the net in 81st minute off a long cross by Josie Knapp.
"It was a tough match to swallow," commented head coach
Ben Karnish. " We had a good game plan and played it well but we could not win the battle in our 18 and that was the difference today. Tough to have our seniors not make it further in the postseason as this group did a lot for our program."
