Volleyball Drops To Second In Coaches' Poll

Northwestern College dropped out of the top spot in this week's edition of the NAIA Volleyball Coaches' poll released today by the national office.

Ranked first in the last two polls, Northwestern dropped to second in the Nov.13 rating after losing to College of Saint Mary (Neb.) in the quarterfinals of the GPAC Tournament. The Red Raiders, now 28-1, received nine first place votes and are behind new No.1 Missouri Baptist by five points. Northwestern won the GPAC regular season title with a 16-0 record and have qualified for the upcoming NAIA National Championship on Dec. 3-7. 

Northwestern is one of seven teams from the GPAC recognized in this week's poll, joining Jamestown (8), Concordia (15), Midland (21), College of Saint Mary (23), Dordt (RV) and Morningside (RV).

The rest of the top five is unchanged from the last poll; Indiana Wesleyan is third, earning one first place vote, followed by Eastern Oregon and Park (Mo.).
