Unbeaten on the season, Northwestern is 12-0 in GPAC play, 24-0 overall heading into the weekend. Morningside received votes in this week's poll and is currently in seventh place in the GPAC at 6-7, 14-9 overall.Â

All-Time...The Red Raiders are 8-2 in the last 10 matches against Morningside and hold a 27-12 all-time advantage in the series, dating back to the 1989 season. Last year, Northwestern lost to the Mustangs in five sets in Sioux City.

The Mustangs have lost two straight, dropping matches to ranked teams, Jamestown and Dordt, in their last two contests. They are currently seventh in the GPAC standings with a 6-7 record, one game up on College of Saint Mary and a game in back of Doane. Morningside is 14-9 overall and has wins over ranked teams, Concordia, Midland and Dakota State so far this season.
Hired in 2015, Donnelly is in the midst of her fifth season as head coach and came to the Mustangs after a five-year stint in the same role at Olympic College (Wash.). She returns eight starters, 12 players, from a 2018 team that finished sixth in the GPAC at 7-9, 14-16 overall, losing in pool play at the NAIA National Championship tournament. They were picked to finish sixth in the GPAC preseason poll and have been ranked / receiving votes most of the season.

Today's match marks one of the final home matches for the lone Red Raider senior,
Ann Pater. Pater is a four-year member of our volleyball program, playing two years on the junior varsity and the last two on varsity. She has averaged 1.7  digs per set (totaling 300) over the last two seasons, recorded 19 ace serves and a 96% serve reception percentage. Pater is one of the most consistent passers we have had and comes to practice to work hard every day, giving her best effort for the team. She has an incredibly kind heart and has a love for her teammates; everyone in our program respects her for how she carries herself both on and off the court.Â
