Game Time...Second-ranked Northwestern is set to play for the third time in a span of six days as they head to #11 Jamestown for a key GPAC match-up between ranked teams. First serve is scheduled for 6pm. Northwestern is 10-0 in GPAC play, 22-0 overall, while the host Jimmies are in second place in the current GPAC standings at 8-1, 20-3 overall.Â

Makenzie Fink was one the standouts in the Red Raiders 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-22) win over Jamestown earlier this season. Fink smashed down a match-high 16 kills while hitting over .400 on the rightside.Â
A.J. Kacmarynski registered 12 kills and five digs andÂ
Anna Wedel turned in another double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.Â
The host Red Raiders scored the first three points of the match and never trailed in their 25-19 first set win. Up by two (6-4), a 10-2 run gave Northwestern a commanding 16-6 lead after a successful attack by Wedel.Â
Set two played out just like the first as Northwestern used an early 8-2 run to take a 10-4 lead. Fink had the hot hand, putting down three kills in the decisive spurt for Van Den Bosch's squad. Jamestown closed to within five (16-11) but Northwestern scored the next four points and outscored the visitors 9-3 to earn the 25-14 win.
Close during the early stages of set three, Jamestown took its biggest lead of the match (15-13) when they scored four straight points with Sydney Ellingson at the service line. Successive kills by Kacmarynski andÂ
Bekah Horstman tied the set at 15; still tied moments later at 17,Â
Emily Van Ginkel broke the tie with a kill and back-to-back errors by Jamestown put Northwestern in front 20-17. The Jimmies rallied one more time, tying the score at 22, but kills by Fink and Kacmarynski and a combination block by Fink and Horstman clinched the match.
Northwestern hit .291 and totaled 10 blocks compared to a .125% hit percentage and four blocks by Jamestown.Â
Lacey Wacker put up 38 assists andÂ
Emily Strasser accounted for 16 digs.Â
Ellie Michaletz and Isabel Wedell led Jamestown with eight kills each.

Jamestown is unbeaten in October, winning five straight matches since losing to Northwestern on Sept. 28. They have beaten Dakota Wesleyan, Valley City State, Presentation, Briar Cliff and Morningside during the streak. The Jimmies are 8-1 in conference play, good for second place, and 20-3 overall.Â
Hegerle has over 250 wins and is in his 11th season as the Jimmies head coach. A former assistant at Marshall High School, Hegerle was named the North Star Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 2017 and has guided the Jimmies to the national tournament the last two years. He returns eight starters and 10 players from a 2018 team that finished fifth in the GPAC at 10-6, 24-9 overall.Â
