Raiders Take Down Saints, 4-0

The Raiders (5-3-1, 2-1 GPAC) dominated Presentation College (1-8-1, 0-6-1 GPAC) Wednesday afternoon, winning 4-0.

The rainy afternoon started off well for the Raiders as they were able to hold strong possession of the ball throughout the opening half. The possession, although good, could not breakdown the Saints' defense early on in the half but the Raiders broke through in the 40th minute.

Audrey Tacey found herself in the Presentation box and was able to get off a quick release shot that skimmed off a Saint defender and into the back of the net. The Raiders would finish off the half with a 1-0 lead.

The second half would start off quick for NWC as Julie Dunlap would earn a penalty kick after getting fouled hard in the box. She would end up taking her own penalty kick and would place it past the keeper.

Dunlap would add her second of the day in the 57th minute when she would crash the net off a rebound and bash home another finish. Dunlap's 2 goals on the day were her firsts of her career.

Nikky Farnsworth would add to her season tally in 65th minute as she found herself with the ball in the box after it pinballed around and she was able to slot it home.
NWC would get of 29 shots, 16 on goal while earning 7 corners on the day.

"It was a solid win in poor conditions today," commented head coach Ben Karnish. "Days like today require strong mental focus and our ladies succeeded in that. Our ladies worked hard for 90 minutes and put together a great win."

The Raiders continue their conference slate this Saturday as they travel to Sioux City, Iowa to take on Morningside College at 1pm.
